John : Take a look.  https://wodewangzhishime.blogspot.com/2023/11/httpswodewangzhishime_29.html?m=1 . It say, "Client Side has 2 V current flow.". Then, the physical layer doesn't depend on the Pulse from the Server side.

.

Me: You're wrong.  The current from the Client side is direct current.  It has no Pulse.

.

John: Therefore,  even if there's no data from the Server side, a basic packaged wave from the Server side is needed by the client side.  And, this packaged wave will be the Pulse of the physical layer.

.

Me: A Pulse mean a Clk line.

.

John : There's a pull up resistor in the Client side.  What's the effect of it? Originally,  Client side is 2 V and Phy Side is 1 V. After the pull up resistor, it become that the Client side is 1.5 V and the Phy Side is 1 V.

.

Me: The pull up resistor let the current not tend to flow from Client side to Phy Side.

.

John : So, the client side need the "pulse" from the Server side.

.

Me: Yes,.
